The FIBA World Cup Schedule 2014 picks up again on Tuesday with a number of games and Team USA will be back in action after winning over Finland and Turkey in Spain and now they have New Zealand in their next game before finishing the group stage with the Dominican Republic and Ukraine.

Team USA comes in the tournament as the favorites to get to the finals along with Spain and the United States should be the winners of this tourney even with stars like LeBron James and Kevin Love not playing. The team looked good in its first two games of the tournament and now they have games on three straight days to finish off the group stage. The team has been using Derrick Rose and Kyrie Irving at point guard and the United States comes in with the deepest roster of anyone else, led by James Harden and Anthony Davis.

The Round of 16 part of the tournament comes on September 6 and 7 and after that the quarterfinals will be from September 9 to the 10. The semifinals of the tournament comes over the next two days and then the gold medal game will come September 14 for the finals. The United States has a solid group, but they are the best team in Group C and they have already won two games and they will be favored in each of the next games they play. The nations in Group C are solid teams and so far the US has looked good in the tournament, while teams like Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Australia have also been playing well.

Team USA of course had to deal with the injury to Paul George in camp and also the drop out of Kevin Durant and so far they have been able to overcome those. Anthony Davis has emerged as one of the best young players in the league and clearly in the world and the United States guards are very strong with Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose. Andre Drummond and Kenneth Faried have played very well for the team and so has Mason Plumlee up front with Davis and DeMarcus Cousins.

The game against Turkey was not an easy one for the US and they were able to pull it out despite trailing at the half and now they have another tough game coming up. The game against Finland was a rout and now the team has a tough stretch of three games in three days and the five point deficit at the half of the Turkey game could be a good experience for the team going forward the rest of the way. The two teams previously played for the finals in 2010 and the United States ended on top again.
