The Monday Night Football schedule for the 2014 starts on ESPN with TV coverage for Week 1 with a doubleheader and the MNF schedule opens on September 8 at 7 pm ET with the NY Giants and Detroit Lions playing the first game at Ford Field, while the San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals are playing in the late game for their opening game of the year,

The second week of the season has a great matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Indianapolis Colts and that will be from Lucas Oil Stadium. That is the first matchup of the season on MNF with two playoff teams from last year playing against each other and it has a top QB matchup of young players with Nick Foles and Andrew Luck going at each other. The third week of the season has the Chicago Bears and NY Jets playing and that will be from MetLife Stadium for the MNF matchup.

Week 4 of the season has the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs matching up and that is another matchup of playoff teams from last year. The Patriots won their division, while the Chiefs went from worst to almost first after bouncing back in the AFC west and making it into the wild card. The Week 5 matchup is one of the most anticipated of the season and has the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Redskins facing off and that will be on the east coast at FedEx Field as the defending Super Bowl champions take on Robert Griffin III.

The next game in Week 6 has a divisional matchup with the San Francisco 49ers visiting the St. Louis Rams and that will be at the Edward Jones Dome. The next game has the Houston Texans visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers and that comes ahead of a game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. That NFC East matchup will be huge in the middle of the season and comes ahead of another NFC east team playing.

The NY Giants will host the Indianapolis Colts on MNF from MetLife Stadium and that comes after the Giants open the season on Monday night football. The Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles matchup in a game with two playoff teams from the NFC and that has two young guns at QB with Cam Newton and Nick Foles making another appearance on MNF.

The Week 11 matchup has the Steelers visiting the Titans, while the following week has the Baltimore Ravens and wife beater Ray Rice returning to where they won the Super Bowl. The team plays at the Superdome against the New Orleans Saints and that comes ahead of a classic MNF game matchup with the Jets and the Miami Dolphins. The Week 14 matchup could be huge, as the Atlanta Falcons platy against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

The final two games of the MNF schedule has three playoff teams out of four opponents, as the Saints are visiting the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, while the Denver Broncos are visiting the Bengals in Cincinnati. That completes the schedule for the season and things open with a doubleheader on ESPN.
