Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano are playing on the La Liga Spanish Primera League schedule on Monday and the match opens the season for the reigning champions of the league and this game is on at 4 pm ET from the Estadio de Vallecas and the live stream coverage comes from beIN Sport online.

Atletico comes into things after winning against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup, which put together the Cop del Rey winners and the LA Liga winners. The team won after getting a 1-1 draw in the first match and they prevailed with a 1-0 score in the second leg and now they will be looking to get off to a string start in La Liga play. The team opens with this match and later next month they have another league game with Real Madrid and also coming up on the schedule are Sevilla, Barcelona and Real Sociedad.

Atletico Madrid comes in as champs, but both Real Madrid and Barcelona made moves this summer to help try and get better and they should be very good this year. Names like James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Luis Suarez have joined the teams and those names should make both much tougher for Atletico to hold off. Diego Simeone said that he knows the teams will be better and now they have a chance to start off well with a win against Rayo.

Last season the team won after finishing ahead of both Barca and Real Madrid in the standings, but they could not get the Champions League title over their city rivals. Real won that in Lisbon in a furious match that went 4-1 and now the team is looking to get back to that to try and win again. The two teams behind Atletico spent hundreds of millions in the offseason and even with all that, Atletico was able to win the Spanish Cup over Real Madrid.

The La Liga table has Barcelona on top for the early lead in the standings and they are looking to take on Atletico after losing out to them last season. Last season Atletico ended up as the first place team in La Liga and they were the runners up in the UCL and made it to the Semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and it was Diego Costa that led the team. He is now gone and they will be looking to beat out their much wealthier rivals and right now they have the chance to get started on the right foot after all their success last season.
