The Cleveland Cavaliers did not stop at the LeBron James signing. They did not stop when Mike Miller and James Jones signed on. They are not stopping while they negotiate a trade for Kevin Love. The team is doing everything they can to win a championship now instead of later. They are mixing the roster up with youth and veteran leadership in hopes of breaking their playoff drought and still have a few free agents in mind.

According to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, Chauncey Billups is interested in joining onto the Cavaliers although it is unclear if he wants to be a player or a coach. Billups has been toying with retirement during the offseason, but Spears believes he would like to play one more year and is hoping Cleveland takes a look at him. The guard worked out for the team, but no offer was made. According to NBA sources, Billups looked healthy and productive while shooting the ball well, but it is unclear if the Cavaliers are looking for just a one-season rental or not.

The issue for Billups is that the Cavaliers do not really need him. They have plenty of veterans that can knock down shots in Miller and Jones along with Kyrie Irving. If the Cavaliers are looking to sign a veteran shooter, they will continue to recruit Ray Allen to the roster. James and company continue to push the free agent to play one or two more seasons, but Allen is also thinking of retiring to be a family man. Either way, BIllups likely will not be on the roster.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting that Shawn Marion is also leaning towards signing with Cleveland. The free agent forward has gotten several looks in free agency including interest from the Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers, but Cleveland has James and that is enough to persuade any free agent to sign on. With Paul George out for the season, there is more playing time in Indiana, but the Cavaliers offer a chance at a deep playoff run. The Pacers can off him more money, but the roster leaves a lot to be desired.

The Cavaliers have remained busy this offseason. They are still waiting for a decision regarding Love. That could send a few young players, including Andrew Wiggins, packing out of Cleveland. Having the veteran bench will be useful if the younger players serve as starters.
