Bayern Munich and Chivas Guadalajara are playing an international friendly match on Thursday night and the game is on ESPN and WatchESPN online starting up at 8 pm ET from Red Bull Arena in Harrison in New Jersey and this matchup is a chance for both sides to get fit ahead of the season and has Pep Guardiola looking to get his club prepared for Bundesliga as they are the defending league champions.

Bayern comes in as one of the strongest teams in the world and they are the best in Germany and now they hit the US for a nice friendly match and this is a good test for both sides. Mexico has Chivas as one of their best teams and the two sides have won over 30 titles together between the two and this could make it a very skilled and strong battle in Jersey. Despite the fact that big names like Thomas Mueller, Mario Goetze and Arjen Robben will be out for Bayern, the team still has a very deep roster and names like Franck Ribery and Robert Lewandowski are expected to play.

Pep Guardiola knows that his full team is one of the best in the sport and they are looking to get into nice form and Julian Green also will be playing. Green is coming in after breaking out in the World Cup and he had an amazing goal against Belgium at the end for the US and this gives him a chance to play in front of his countrymen and should see him get some solid time with the other players out. The 19-year-old has been very impressive in his early career and now he will get the chance to play and he thinks that this season could be a big one for him.

Chivas comes in after wins over Coras de Tepic and Pumas and they are looking to get things going and they will have Gustavo Napoles after he scored twice in the last game for the team. Chivas is on the way up with their roster and playing against a club like Bayern Munich is big. Many of the players on the team won with Germany in the World Cup and they come in after dominating Bundesliga last year, winning the title way before the season was over and they have been as impressive as anyone in the world.

Chivas is the first opponent for Bayern Munich and then they will play against the MLS all-Stars and that comes from Portland after next week. Chivas has four points already from 2014 Apertura and this is the fourth friendly for the team and they previously lost their last match and now this gives the teams a chance to see each other early on. Guardiola said that he wants to see a lot from his team and he said that he knows Chivas is a good side and that this should be a challenge to his team, especially with the big names out.
