The Boston Red Sox have traded Jon Lester to the Oakland Athletics for Yoenis Cespedes and the trade includes Jonny Gomes and now the A's have the best rotation in baseball and they are stacked in the rotation heading into the postseason and backstretch of the season and now they are just filthy and the Red Sox stole away the Cuban slugger.

According to ESPN.com and other reports, Lester was moved for Cespedes and now the Red Sox get some offense for a pitcher they did not want to sign to a mega deal. Lester said he would be open to signing back next season and now he has the chance to win another World Series and he moves while he is having one of his best seasons. Lester is 10-7 with a 2.52 ERA this year and he has nearly 150 strikeouts and he has been lights out as of late and now he has the chance to get to the playoffs.

The A's have made deals for Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel and now they have Lester and he comes in making $13 million in his final season. Lester has won World Series with the Red Sox already and now is coming to the A's as they are in the thick of the playoff race and are leading the AL West. The report is not official yet, but this is basically a done deal and now the Red Sox and A's have started things off with a big move.

The Red Sox and Lester broke off talks during this season and now he comes in with a 10-7 record and 2.52 ERA and has been lights out as of late and now he can impact the playoff race. Lester wants big money and could be asking for about $22 million and this comes after he rejected a four-year, $70 million offer from the Sox earlier this year. The Red Sox don't want to give out big money deals and now this could be a major move for the team and it sure is, as they get a power hitting Cuban right in the middle of their lineup.
