The Washington Redskins had the chance to trade Kirk Cousins to the Cleveland Browns and while that did not work out, the team could look at a trade to the Houston if Ryan Fitzpatrick gets injured this summer in camp and the Redskins would likely be fine without Cousins, as they signed Colt McCoy to be the backup for RG3 and moving Cousins would take away any idea that he could start over Robert Griffin III again.

Cousins has been a solid player since being drafted with Griffin and now that Jay Gruden has taken over, the team could look to move him to a team like the Texans for a draft pick. According to ESPN.com, the team had the chance to trade Cousins for a fourth round pick to Cleveland, but clearly now that is not needed, as the team picked Johnny Manziel in the draft and are happy with Brian Hoyer. The Texans are reportedly interested in Ryan Mallett, but if they can't pull that off, Cousins could be another option for the team as a short term QB while Tom Savage develops.

The Texans went just 2-14 last season and they are dealing with a number of issues, including the unhappiness of Andre Johnson and a depleted roster after losing 14 games in a row last season. The team added Jadeveon Clowney with the number one overall pick in the draft and while that will be a great help to the defense, the team has tons of holes to fill. Cousins could be a solid option for the time being, as he showed that he can be a good starter in the league in a limited amount of playing time.

Cousins has received more attention on the trade market because Ryan Mallett has not gotten the chance to play as much and so far he has played in eight game and has started four of them in his career. He led the Redskins to a great comeback against the Atlanta Falcons and while the Browns are no longer an option, it could have been perfect for him, as he spent the past few years in the offense that was run by Kyle Shanahan in Washington and now he is in Cleveland.

During his two years with the Redskins, Cousins has stepped up for RG3 when needed and he put up 1,320 yards and eight touchdowns with 10 interceptions during that time. The Redskins went 3-13 last season and they still have plenty of holes to fill, as they ranked in the bottom half of the league in passing yards and rushing yards allowed per game.

The Redskins and the Texans both fell back after making the playoffs in the previous season and now the teams could come together on a trade. The Redskins went 0-6 in the division last season and they are looking for a big bounce back year from Robert Griffin. The Texans were horrible all season after winning their first two games and they could end up having to trade Andre Johnson if he gets frustrated enough after the team fell back into rebuilding mode.
