Manchester City and AC Milan are playing live on the International Champions Cup schedule on Sunday and the game from Heinz Field comes at 4 pm ET on FOX in Pittsburgh and has Pool B going after Man United played and Man City comes in after winning over Sporting Kansas City and now they have the chance to start their preseason tournament with a win.
AC Milan comes into the game after a loss against Olympiacos and they will be looking to rebound, but they have a tough task with Manchester City. The team scored four goals in the first game and Manchester City won the Premier League last season and they were the highest scoring team and had a crazy goal differential and now they are playing the US and looking forward to trying to win another EPL title.
Manuel Pellegrini spoke about the expectations for this season and he said that this tournament will be a good way to start things and Man City comes in after a win despite playing without their big stars. Names like Yaya Toure and David Silva will be in action on Sunday and now AC Milan will have to show some improvement, as they did not look great in their first game and now Man City wants to start well in the ICC and they could end up against one of their EPL opponents in Liverpool or Man U at the end.
The team won another EPL title and they played against Kansas City in a matchup of champions and won that and now they are playing a nice stretch of games, including against Liverpool at Yankee Stadium and in Minneapolis against Olympiakos later. The team could be in the final in Miami on August 4 and that gives the Citizens a chance to get things going and the manager was happy with how the team performances against KC.
Pellegrini said playing against top European competition early is always a good thing and it should help the team to get ready for the season as they come into things. Man City won over Liverpool on the EPL table last season and they finished ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal and now Man City will have some of their top players in action, so this game could be a good one. Willy Caballero and Joe Hart should be battling and that could be interesting to watch as the season goes on and he will be playing in the game against Milan and that could give him the inside track this year. The matchup is live from where the Steelers of the NFL play and the game starts at 4 pm.
