Crystal Palace and the Philadelphia Union are playing a friendly on Friday night as the Premier League team makes their preseason American tour and the MLS matchup with the EPL club is live past 7 pm ET and is from PPL Park in Chester and this game gives both teams the chance to matchup and for the European side, it could be another beating after what Man U did to the LA Galaxy the other night.
Philly comes into the game playing well and they have one defeat in their last 11 games and that has pushed them up in the standings. Crystal Palace played to a draw with the Crew and now they are looking to fine tune their performance heading into this game. The Union have a young team and this is a nice chance to play against top competition in a European team and while they are not a great team in the EPL, CP had some fine performances in the Premier League this season and this now is an anticipated matchup.
Crystal Palace just played against the Columbus Crew and now they continue with a game against the Union and they come into the matchup at sixth in the MLS standings. The east has been tough this season and Philly now has 23 points in 21 games and they are looking to move into playoff position, as all the teams behind the top two are very close. Sporting Kansas City and DC United have been the best teams in the east and they are in ahead of Toronto, the New York Red Bulls and also the New England Revolution.
Philly is battling with the Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire and they are hoping to get into the mix, while the west has the Seattle Sounders up over everyone else. The team has a nice lead over Real Salt Lake and behind them are Dallas, the LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids in playoff position.
