Tottenham Spurs and Toronto FC are playing live on Wednesday night in a Premier League friendly match with the MLS from BMO Field in Canada and the matchup starts at 7 pm ET and has the Hotspur looking to get things going as they open a North American tour and this gives the two sides a chance to see each other and the Toffees will be led by Christian Eriksen in the matchup.

Tottenham comes into this season with less attention after last summer had the Gareth Bale saga and this gives the club a chance to see some new players in action as the season gets going. Last year the Spurs played well in the Premier League and they are looking to make a push to the top part of the table this season. Last year Tottenham ended up in sixth place and they challenged Everton and Arsenal above them and now they are in Europa League qualifying from last year and this season they hope to go even farther.

The team finished ahead of Manchester United in the standings and that means the Red Devils will be coming back strong to try and rebound, especially after adding Louis Van Gaal and that means the Spurs can't afford to drop off from last season. The Spurs will have some heavy competition and they have expectations for the season, as they made progress last year and now want to continue moving in the right direction.

Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela are expected to play well this season and Eriksen is the main man to watch, as he had 10 goals last season in 36 games and was very impressive. At just 22 years old he has shown the skills of a veteran and he comes in after being the youngest player in the World Cup in 2010 and he has shown promise since that performance and he said he is excited to matchup with Toronto. Soldado is likely to bounce back, as he has the skills and the pedigree to score more and the team will be expecting him to continue that way this season.

Toronto comes into the game playing well and they want to keep sharp heading into the backend of the MLS season. The team is in the mix in the east and they currently are in third place on the table heading into the end of the year. Toronto has 26 points this season and they are in a tight race behind the leaders in Sporting Kansas City and DC united, as everyone from the third spot to the seventh is separated by just three points. KC and DC are pulling away in the east and Toronto wants to continue moving along, as NY, New England and Philly are right on their heels.
