James Rodriguez has moved to Real Madrid on a $107 million transfer from Monaco and now the World Cup star heads to Spain after scoring six goals in the tournament and he joins a number of high profile players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale there and it comes after Luis Suarez moved to Barcelona, bringing the La Liga intrigue to an all-time high this season.

James Rodriguez was the star of the World Cup in Brazil and now a move to Real Madrid is coming, as he was with AS Monaco and he has told the team he is done playing for the team and now the details are being worked out ahead of Monaco's friendly match against Atletico Nacional and this move has been expected since the tournament ended.

Rodriguez led the World Cup in scoring and he helped get Colombia farther than they have ever been in the tournament and he put himself on the worldwide stage with his performance. According to Pro Soccer Talk, Rodriguez has long dreamt of playing for Real Madrid and now he likely will get his wish, as he is not playing with Monaco as they start their preseason training before their friendly and he reportedly is in Madrid getting the deal finished out. Monaco posted a ton of money for Rodriguez and that will have to get worked out and they will be looking for cash and this time around it could be inflated because of how good Rodriguez played in the World Cup.

The 23 year old is a bonafide superstar and he would be a huge addition for Cristiano Ronaldo the season after the team won the Champions League. The club starts off some of their preseason training and early games in the United States and there is a chance Rodriguez could be with the team by then. Rodriguez first moved to Monaco for $60 million so they will want some money to come their way and reports have the new deal at over $100 million along with Diego Lopez possibly.

This would be the next high profile for a player to a La Liga team, as Luis Suarez was moved from Liverpool this summer after his World Cup bite incident for Uruguay. The move to Barca was expected, but it may not have happened so quickly had he not bitten another player.
