Jon Beason #52 of the New York Giants waves to the crowd after defeating the Washington Redskins at MetLife Stadium on December 29, 2013 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Giants defeated the Redskins 20-6. "

The New York Giants are opening training camp and injuries are the biggest concern, as Jon Beason and Chris Snee come in a bit banged up for Eli Manning and company and Tom Coughlin will have to evaluate both situations as NY tries to rebound from a losing season and they are allowed to start training camp earlier than most teams since they are playing the Bulls in the Hall of Fame game.

According to Pro Football Talk, Beason is coming into camp a bit injured after tearing a ligament in his foot and there is a chance that he will start the year on the physically unable to perform list or the PUP list, which means he would not be practicing with the team. Beason said that he is in line to start the season opener in September, but heading into camp he is not going to run in the conditioning test that starts training camp and that likely is a precaution to ensure that he is fully healthy.

Last year the Giants traded a late round draft pick to the Panthers for Beason and he ended up being a standout performer for the team. Beason re-signed in the offseason and he said that he is feeling good coming back from the foot injury this offseason and that he will be ready for the start of the season. According to ESPN.com, Chris Snee will be meeting with the Giants at the start of training camp to see what his status will be, as Snee has been dealing with injuries and has pondered retirement.

Snee missed 13 games last season and the team added John Jerry in free agency as a backup option in case Snee could not go and they also are relying on Brandon Mosley and the loss of Snee could be a big one for the Giants. The team is opening things on Tuesday and Snee will meet with the team to see what will happen and this comes after he missed only one game over the 2005 to 2012 stretch.

Last week a report came out that offensive lineman Chris Snee was going to come to training camp, but it was unclear if he would be healthy and cleared for the season. Pro Football Talk reports that Snee is coming off of elbow and hip injuries and he could be considering retirement over another injury season with the Giants. Snee was one of the most reliable OL for the Giants over the past decade and he was an integral part of two Super Bowl teams and also happened to be the son in law of coach Tom Coughlin.
