The Seattle Sounders and Tottenham Spurs are playing a friendly match on Saturday from CenturyLink Field and the matchup between MLS and Premier League sides is live on ESPN2 and on ESPN from the WatchESPN website with a live stream as Clint Dempsey takes on his old club in the Hotspur with the EPL season starting up soon.
The international friendly match gives the Sounders the chance to test themselves against a solid EPL team and Dempsey knows them well, as he played for them for a season when he transferred back to the MLS. The Sounders come in after a win against their rivals in the Portland Timbers and now head coach Sigi Schmid is looking for his team to have a nice performance and they are the top team in the MLS. The Sounders have played well all season and they are the leaders for the Supporters Shield with 12 wins and a 12-4-2 record.
Cap Brad Evans is ready for the challenge and the team knows there are more important games like the league matchups and also in the US Open Cup, but this is a good chance to train and compete against a team from the top league in the world. The team has the chance to win a number of trophies this season, as they have a lead over the Red Bulls after they won it last year and they are also challenging for the US Open Cup and MLS Cup and this is the fifth time they have been into the semis for the Open in six seasons. The team won 2-0 against the Timbers last week and now they have the chance to keep things going even though this game doesn't count.
The Spurs have had a number of players that have connections to the Sounders, including Dempsey as well as former cap Kasey Keller and now they head to the west coast for a match.
