Arsenal is looking to spend money this summer and Alexis Sanchez is their next target, as the Barcelona forward is close to a $50 million deal with the Gunners and that should go through once Barca works out the transfer of Luis Suarez from Liverpool, a move that has been rumbled about for months.

According to the Guardian and Pro Soccer Talk, Liverpool is looking to retool along with Arsenal this summer and that is why Sanchez is getting a deal and why Suarez is on the move. The report says that Liverpool is gearing up to complete their deal and that things will move along once Suarez is moved from Liverpool to Barca, which would set the stage for Sanchez and his move to the Gunners.

Arsenal had the lead in the Premier League last year for most of the season and faltered down the stretch, but they still clinched a Champions League appearance and a top finish in the EPL. The team now is looking to add players and now Sanchez is on his way over after starring for Chile in the World Cup. The team was knocked out by Brazil in the round of 16 and he has been with Barcelona since 2011 and has scored 47 goals over that period of time.

Sanchez is a versatile player and that gives Arsene Wenger another interesting option to play with in his lineups. The report says that Sanchez and his agents are heading to London to hammer out the rest of the deal and as that goes on, Suarez is on his way to Barca. Mesut Ozil signed last year and now the team is poised to add Sanchez.
