The Houston Rockets have been looking at a Rajon Rondo trade since last year and while that deal may be hard to pull off, it could happen if LeBron James signs with the Cavaliers, as the team may trade Jeremy Lin to the Philadelphia Sixers and that could pave the way for Chris Bosh to sign a max contract to give the Rockets a Big 3 with James Harden and Dwight Howard.

According to ESPN.com, the Rockets have set up a trade with the Sixers for Lin in the case that Anthony or Bosh signs with the team and now it looks like Anthony will be staying in NY after all. Anthony has been targeted by the Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Rockets this offseason, but Houston looks to be out of the running and that is one reason why they are going after Bosh. According to Pro Basketball Talk, Daryl Morey has long been looking into a Rondo trade and after things broke down last year, the team could look at it again.

The Rockets were defeated in the playoffs by the Portland Trail Blazers and now they are looking to strengthen their team as they make another championship run. According to ESPN.com, Bosh is seriously considering the offer, but if James returns to the Miami Heat, he will return there as well. James and Bosh are holding up nearly the entire NBA, as the Rockets also have Chandler Parsons as a restricted free agent and they want to keep him as well. If Bosh and James sign with Miami, the Rockets still can trade Lin and sign Parsons, which is what they have wanted to do all along.

Morey does not want to let Parsons go, which is why the team declined his option to make him a restricted free agent. The team now can control whether he stays or goes and Morey wants to keep him after drafting him in the second round. The Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers are showing interest in Parsons and now he could be the hot name on the market once Anthony and James sign. The big players have been holding things up and once they sign deals, Parsons and Luol Deng will take center stage.

The Rockets would love to add Rondo, but right now the Celtics are not looking like they are trading him and after Danny Ainge got another first round pick, they have plenty to build on in the future. Rondo played in 30 games last season after coming off of a serious injury and now he has the chance to be the man for the Celtics as they build with Marcus Smart, but if the Rockets lose out on all their big names, they could go crazy and make a massive trade for Rondo.

The Rockets are shaping up to make moves this summer and a trade for Rajon Rondo or Kevin Love could be in the mix for Daryl Morey if he is willing to give up Jeremy Lin or Chandler Parsons and if those deals do not work out, the team will target Carmelo Anthony and Lance Stephenson on the free agent market in 2014 like Eric Bledsoe and Greg Monroe.
