Jun 18, 2014 03:27 PM EDT

The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics are playing on the MLB schedule on Wednesday and the game from O.co Coliseum starts up at 3:35 pm ET and comes streaming live from MLB.com as the AL West leaders take on a division rival and the A's come into the game playing very well and they once again are one of the best teams in the American League.

The first two games of the series were split and saw some nice offense for both teams and it comes after the Rangers won three of the first four of the season series games and now they are looking to bounce back after a loss on Tuesday. Derek Norris hit the home run that helped the team win and now the two sides will be looking to get a series win and the Athletics have young star Sonny Gray on the mound and he is pitching well, putting up a 6-3 record with a 2.93 ERA on the season.

The A's come into the game after beating Yu Darvish the night before the team put up a 10 spot on him and now they have the chance at winning two in a row after dropping four in a row at home. The team comes in before playing against the Red Sox at home on Thursday and that game will have a solid matchup with Jake Peavy going up against Scott Kazmir, who comes into the game 8-2 on the season. Kazmir has been one of the best moves that Billy Beane has made this past year and he is paying off greatly early in the season while the team deals with some injuries.

The A's come into the game ranked first in the league in runs scored and they have been mashing the ball most of the year and are sixth in the league in slugging percentage. The team is first in on base percentage and 16th in batting average and the pitching has been phenomenal overall. The team is ranked first in ERA in the league and first in WHIP and they also are in the top two ion quality starts and BAA. The bullpen has been good enough so far this season and they have one of the best starting rotations in the league.

The Rangers come into the game after losing to the A's and they will continue playing on the road in Cali next when they matchup with the Angels in Anaheim. The team needs to bounce back, as they are fourth in the division behind the Mariners, yes the MARINERS and now Texas has to find a way to get things together. The team is ranked 10th in runs scored and on base percentage and the team is third in batting average. The pitching has been mostly terrible and they rank in the bottom half of the league in all major categories.
