Chris Berman is set to commentate his first ever, live NFL game when ESPN kicks off the 2012 Monday Night Football season on September 11th.  Berman will cohost alongside former NFL QB, Trent Dilfer.

The duo will handle the first game of the now annual double header with which ESPN chooses to kick off the new year.  It is an AFC North, Bengals vs. Ravens matchup that pits sophomore QB Andy Dalton and his young receiving corps up against the notorious Baltimore defense.

Up to this point in his career, Berman has made his name as the host of NFL Primetime an dhis witty metaphors and nicknames helped mold him into an iconic football pundit.

It will be intriguing to see how his first live call does in the ratings column.  Kickoff takes place at 7 pm EDT (4 pm PDT), which is a 90 minute earlier start time than normal.  This is done to accommodate the second game, which pits San Diego vs. Oakland.
