Switzerland and Ecuador are playing live on the World Cup schedule on Sunday and the game is on ABC on TV and the WatchESPN website for the live stream and it begins at 12 pm noon ET from Estádio Nacional de Brasília in Brasília and is a big matchup for the group as the Swiss and ECU teams open up their Brazil 2014 schedule.
The Swiss are coming in as one of the teams not getting much credit despite being seeded and they have a solid amount of talent with their young and veteran player mix and they also won in the past year against Brazil. Confidence is always key in these tournaments and that is big for Group E, which also has Honduras and France and they will be playing on Sunday in the middle game on the schedule. Argentina also kicks off the schedule for their group and that will be a big match for the team, as they are one of the favorites in the tournament and with Spain losing they have a chance to advance with defending champions on the ropes.
The Swiss don't have much successful history and they come in looking to start off fast and there is a chance that they could surprise everyone in this group. The team was in the top eight of the FIFA rankings coming in and it should be a tough matchup against Ecuador, but they can win it and they will need Xherdan Shaqiri to play well. The Swiss play against Ecuador first and that will be in Brasilia and then the team matches up with France and that will be a huge matchup, while Honduras is the last matchup and that will be in Manaus at the Arena Amazonia.
England had a rough day on Saturday and they lost their opening match and that was the first time in 10 tries that the English team did that in their opener and that makes their next game huge. England started off strong and they had a few near misses and played well for a while, but Italy was dominant energy wise and they scored the winning goal on a great play from Mario Balotelli. Costa Rica won over Uruguay 3-1 and they now are in first in the group and England still has a chance to get out of the group and that means their next game against Uruguay is a must win and they need to at least get points out of that match.
Ecuador comes into the match looking to make a mark after getting into the tournament for the third time overall in the past 12 years and they have a team with some solid talent up front. The team opens with the Swiss and then plays against Honduras in Curitiba and then they have their toughest match with France and that will be in Rio de Janeiro.
