Jun 03, 2014 08:02 PM EDT

The Oakland A's are playing the NY Yankees on Tuesday night to open a series in New York and the game for the Athletics is streaming online from MLB.com at Yankee Stadium at 7:05 pm ET and the matchup has Scott Kazmir against Hiroki Kuroda and comes after the Yankees lost to the Seattle Mariners on Monday night with Felix Hernandez on the mound.

The Yankees are coming into the game while dealing with some injuries and they have been up and down over the past week and now they welcome Oakland to the Bronx and it comes as the team has a nice advantage, as Oakland is on a road losing streak. If the team loses that would be five straight on the road and they have won four in a row coming in and they have Kazmir on the mound and he is pitching very well after signing as a free agent, going 6-2 with a great ERA early on and the Yankees need to try and counter him with Kuroda.

The Yankees have been dealing with a number of injuries in the rotation and now Oakland comes in as the best team in the league and they are looking to get things going. The A's won on Sunday to sweep the Angels, but their road woes could continue and they are hoping to break out of it on Tuesday night. The Yankees will have to watch out for Josh Donaldson, as he has played very well for the A's this season and Oakland is one of the best teams in baseball and has played that way. Donaldson his four home runs over the last home stand for the A's and now he has the chance to mash in Yankee Stadium.

Mark Teixeira may return after dealing with a sore wrist and the Yankees sure could use him, as Kelly Johnson is not as good defensively as he is. Last night the Yankees lost to Felix and he now is 8-1 on the season and the Mariners finished off a sweep they started in April, as the one game matchup on Monday was a makeup game. The Yankees will have Vidal Nuno pitching next and he is one of the players coming in to help with the loss of CC Sabathia and Michael Pineda and so is David Phelps, who pitched on Monday night against the King.

The Yankees are ranked 17th in the league in runs and they are also in the top 10 in batting average and the team has continued to stay in it despite injuries. The A's have been mashing the ball and they are first in runs and first in on base percentage and have been one of the most consistent teams in baseball and that is why they are in first place.
