May 27, 2014 07:58 PM EDT

The New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals are playing on the MLB schedule on Tuesday night and the game from Busch Stadium starts up at 8:10 pm ET and comes with David Phelps and Lance Lynn on the mound for the interleague series game and it will be streaming with a live stream from MLB.com for the matchup as the Yanks continue their road trip.

The game on Memorial Day was an exciting one for the teams, as the matchup went into extra innings and was won by the Yankees after they blew some games against the White Sox over the weekend. The team is now 27-23 on the season and they are second in the AL East and looking to keep moving up as the schedule moves towards June. The Yankees are coming off of a tough stretch and they have been getting some clutch hitting and that has been the reason the team has won six of nine games on the road and now they have the chance to keep the series sweep intact against the Cardinals. The team has had to do it a bunch in extra innings and after faltering in those situations early in the season, the team now is thriving in them.

The Yankees have been hitting the ball well of late and they are 12th in the league in runs and ninth in batting average and they are also 16th in on base and 12th in slugging percentage. The pitching has been hanging along despite injuries from CC Sabathia, Ivan Nova and Michael Pineda, and now Phelps will be in line after Chase Whitley got the start on Monday. Hiroki Kuroda will be pitching against Shelby Miller on Wednesday and that will be the series finale against the Cards. Brett Gardner made a great catch in the outfield and Jacoby Ellsbury also made an impact in the game.

The Cardinals come into the game after losing in extra innings and they have been struggling mightily on offense, ranking 21st in runs and 10th in batting average this season. The team has been missing the bat of Carlos Beltran and while he is injured right now, his absence is notable in the lineup for the Cardinals, as they are ranked 26th in the league in slugging percentage. Some players have out homered the Cards since May 1, as they have single digits and while their pitching has been fantastic, the hitting has not been up to snuff yet. The team is ranked sixth in ERA this season, seventh in quality starts and second in batting average, while the team is third in BAA and the pitching is the main reason the team is in step with the Brewers in the division.
