The New York Rangers won over the Montreal Canadiens in Game 4 of the eastern conference NHL playoffs series and now the team has a 3-1 lead in the series after Martin St. Louis scored the winning goal in overtime and it came after the Canadiens tied the game in the third period and now the team has a commanding lead as they try to make it into the Stanley Cup.

The Rangers are now just one win from the Stanley Cup finals and they got the goal from St. Louis, who has been in an emotional state since his mother passed away. The team won with a shorthanded goal from Carl Hagelin early and they killed off another penalty in overtime after having a ton in the game and now they won after St. Louis had his sixth goal of the playoffs. The team played against the power play for a ton of the game and they were able to kill of most of the penalties and now the team has the chance to make it to the finals.

The Rangers were able to strike first in the game with a goal from Carl Hagelin on a nice breakaway that went five hole on Dustin Tokarski and that gave the team a 1-0 lead and they held that into the second period. The Canadiens were able to bounce back with a goal from Francis Bouillon before the team jumped ahead again with a goal from Derek Brassard. The Rangers loved that it was Brassard who scored after the talk about him leading up to the game from the Montreal side and that lasted until the third period.

The Montreal Canadiens were able to tie things up with a goal from PK Subban on the power play and that made it 2-2 heading into the second half of the third and with 10 minutes left in the game it was still tied at that point. The Rangers came into the series after gaining a ton of momentum with three straight wins against the Pittsburgh Penguins to advance into the eastern conference finals, while the Canadiens had to play seven against the Boston Bruins.
