The Champions League final is live on Saturday and the match is streaming online as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid battle in Lisbon in Portugal and the game will have a live stream from the Fox Soccer 2Go website and comes as Cristiano Ronaldo tries to lead his team to a tenth title and would be the first in over a decade as the Spanish teams and La Liga rivals battle.
The venue in Portugal has never hosted a Champs League final before so it's fitting that it's the first time that two teams in one city are playing and it comes as the Real side is in their 13th final and that is a record. Bayern Munich and Atletico played the last time Madrid won and that was back in 1974 and now they will be looking to bring home both the Champions League trophy in Europe and the Spanish trophy for La Liga in the same season.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been fantastic this year and he is leading the entire tournament in scoring and his team for the season and he will be front and center when the Madrid teams face off on Saturday and he will be back home in Portugal for it. Real Madrid had a tough road to the final and they beat the defending champions in Bayern Munich so it's only fitting that they are into the final and they had tough matches with Dortmund and Schalke as well and now they are into the finals, while Atletico had to play Chelsea and they won that to advance.
This is the first time that two teams from the same city are playing for the Champions League trophy and while last year they were from the same nation, this type of matchup is unprecedented and could be historic for Madrid. Real is looking to win its 10th title overall while Atletico is looking to win their first one in many years and it comes after they won the La Liga title and that was their first trophy from the Spanish Primera division since 1996.
Real Madrid played well this season in La Liga, but they couldn't catch up to Barcelona and Atletico and those two teams ended up playing for the title. Barca lost out and now Atletico has the league title and they are looking for another trophy while trying to deny Ronaldo the chance to bring one home for Madrid and the fans.
Real had to play against Galatasaray, Juventus and Copenhagen in the group stages and they dominated there and now they are into the finals. The team won five of six matches back then, while Atletico comes in after playing against AC Milan and Barcelona in the rounds leading up to this and they also won against Zenit, Porto and Austria Wien in group play.
