NBA Playoffs Standings 2014: Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers Play Eastern Conference Finals Series

May 17, 2014 07:33 PM EDT

The NBA Playoffs in 2014 are into the eastern conference finals and the Miami Heat will play the Indiana Pacers in a matchup of the number one and two seeds in the east conference standings and now LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will have to go through Roy Hibbert and Paul George for the second straight season to get their chance to play the Thunder or Spurs for a third straight championship.

The Miami Heat finished off the Brooklyn Nets in five games to advance to the east finals and the Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards in six games to make it in after many thought they would get upset. The Pacers had issues playing at home and playing with any consistency and now they have made it into the conference finals after getting the number one seed heading into the playoffs. The team had to play seven games against the Atlanta Hawks and now they are matching up with the defending champions.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are playing against the San Antonio Spurs in the western conference finals and that comes after OKC won against the LA Clippers in six games, while the Spurs dominated the Blazers and finished that series in five games. The Thunder beat the Clippers in Game 5 on a controversial ending and LA had to play with the whole Donald Sterling situation hanging over their heads.

The Pacers and Heat are playing for the second straight season in the eastern conference finals and this was what Indiana was looking forward to since losing last season.
