The Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals may be looking for a trade coming up in June and names like Giancarlo Stanton, Carlos Gonzalez, Rickie Weeks, Howie Kendrick and Nick Franklin all could be in the mix heading into the trade deadline in 2014 and while some of these deals are very unlikely, there is a chance that the Cards or Sawx could step up and pull off another blockbuster move.

The trade market has not had much heat early in the season, but as the temps start to rise in baseball through the summer, the deadline will heat up and both the Cardinals and Red Sox could be in the mix, as both have World Series expectations and are off to slow starts offensively this year. Station is always mentioned in trade rumors because it's the Marlins and they are terrible and now it will likely come up even more since Jose Fernandez is injured and he has been tearing the ball up this season already and he will be a prime target for teams. Stanton already has 11 home runs and 42 RBIs and he is hitting over .320 and has easily been one of the best players in baseball and if the Marlins get a package they like enough, they could pull the trigger.

Everyone freaked out when the team made the huge trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, but that ended up working out very well for the Marlins, as they restocked their farm system and now have some exciting young players coming up. The Marlins could look to make a deal like that again and the Cardinals and Red Sox are prime options, as both have rich farm systems with pitching and hitting and that could entice Miami to make another trade.

The Red Sox would need to make a huge package available to do that and while they may not want to blow up the minor system they have built, GM Ben Cherington at least has options, as names like Will Middlebrooks, Henry Owens, Allen Webster, Blake Swihart and Mookie Betts are all considered solid prospects. The Sox have not gotten what they wanted out of Middlebrooks and Xander Bogaerts this season and that could lead to the team making a move as well.

The Cardinals have been lacking on offense this season and their best hitter has been Jhonny Peralta and they are really missing Carlos Beltran, even though he hasn't done much for the Yankees so far this season. Carlos Gonzalez is an option for both teams and he could fit in the outfield for the Cards after hitting .263 with seven home runs and 25 RBIs to start the season, but with the way the Rockies are playing, they may not want to deal.

Weeks is another option to move, as the Brewers have been frustrated with his production and since he is making over $10 million Milwaukee may not have a problem sending him off. Ken Rosenthal reported that the Brewers are looking at options for Weeks and that the St. Louis Cardinals or Baltimore Orioles could be potential fits.
