NBA Playoffs Standings and Schedule 2014: Miami Heat Against Pacers As Thunder Play Spurs In Conference Finals Last 4 Teams

May 16, 2014 09:47 AM EDT

The NBA playoffs standings and schedule for 2014 has the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs as the last 4 teams in the postseason and the conference finals will start on Sunday and Monday as the teams push towards the finals and now on both sides in the east and west it will be a matchup of number one and two seeds and players like Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Tony Parker will be looking to lead their teams to the finals.

The Thunder finished off the LA Clippers in Game 6 at the Staples Center and now they have the chance to make it back to the finals after losing two years ago to LeBron and the Heat. Durant and Russell Westbrook played fantastic in the series and now the last two teams to win the west will play against each other to see who goes to the finals. The Indiana Pacers took a wild road, but they are back in the east finals for the second straight season and now they have home court advantage this time around.

James and Dwyane Wade took care of the Nets in five games and now they are rested, having played just nine games over the first two rounds and that is far less than the Pacers. Miami is not afraid to play in Indiana after the way the team has performed there as of late and James comes in after scoring 49 and 29 points in the last two games for Miami. Joe Johnson had over 30 poitns in the final game of that series, but James was able to counter that and the team ended up with a 4-1 win.

The Spurs also won 4-1 in their series and they dominated the Blazers, defeating them in blowouts in nearly every game and the final matchup saw Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard score 22 points each and now Tony Parker comes back after leading the team to the conference finals. Durant scored 39 points in the win over the Clippers and also added 16 rebounds, while Westbrook had 12 assists and now they come in with confidence. David West led the way for the Pacers and he had 29 points, while Roy Hibbert had seven rebounds and Lance Stephenson had eight assists.

The two conference finals are exatly what the NBA wants and now the Clippers situation with Donald Sterling can focus on that and not on the court and the league is thrilled to have LeBron and Durant alive. Either way, the finals should be a great matchup and even better if the Heat defend their title against Durant, who won MVP this season over James.
