NBA Finals: Lebron James Has Made the Right Moves

Lebron James's union with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade did not deliver the all but promised title last year. They are only one game away from delivering this year."

Lebron James is on the edge of his first ever NBA Championship.  A victory tonight would not only mean a new addition to his hand jewelry collection and it doesn't just mean a victory parade in Miami. A win tonight cauterizes the seeping wounds of internet memes and Twitter jabs that poke fun at "King Jame's" lack of hardware.

James has become something of a heel to the general NBA community.  Once loved when he was the shining beacon of hope on an otherwise subpar Cleveland roster, he found himself quickly shunned by those who felt he was abandoning his hometown and his responsibility to the now struggling Cavaliers by leaving via free agency.

But all sports have their evil empires.  The NFL had Dallas in the 90's.  MLB wields the Yankees.  Even NASCAR boasted Jeff Gordon and his successor Jimmie Johnson.

Perennial success breeds contempt from those who do not taste the same level of satisfaction and accomplishment.

But maybe it's time to accept James's decision to abandon a title quest in Cleveland.  He is a professional that wanted to rise to the top of his profession. He made what appears to be a logical and beneficial move. Perfectly within his rights as a free agent, Lebron found an arrangement that would allow him to move up in his line of work.

Tonight, Lebron may finally be crowned alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.  But he will also be crowned next to Mario Chalmers.  Chalmers has stepped up this post season when members of the "Big Three" were either unavailable or hampered by injury.  He proved that the Heat are a complete team that happen to boast three exceptional players to cap off their starting five.

Did Lebron break unwritten rule by deciding to be part of a stronger unit instead of carrying a mediocre club?  In this writer's opinion, he did not.
