The team is ranked second in on base percentage and 13th in slugging percentage and they have been coming on as of late with the pitching. The team is ranked 18th in ERA and 23rd in quality starts this season and the team is also in the bottom half of the league in BAA and WHIP so far through April.

The Athletics come into the game after a loss to the Houston Astros and they have been in first place for most of the season and they are 15-10 as well this year. The team is ranked fifth in the league in runs and 12th in batting average and they are also in the top five in on base percentage and seventh in slugging percentage. The pitching has been fantastic this season and they rank in the top five or the top 10 in most major categories and the team is fourth in ERA and WHIP and they are also third in quality starts and sixth in BAA this season.
