The Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners are playing live on the MLB schedule from Safeco Field and the baseball game starts up at 3:40 PM ET and has the M's looking to snap a week-long losing streak and they have been fairly terrible over the last seven games and now some home cooking against an AL West division rival is for fifth place as Chris Young and Jarred Cosart on the mound.

Young comes into the game looking to bounce back after giving up four runs in three innings against Miami, while Cosart is coming in after getting just one out and giving up seven runs against the Athletics. The Mariners started off the season well with three wins against the Angels, but the bats have been silent since then and now they have been outscored by the Astros 31-7 in the last four games in Seattle.

Robinson Cano has not quite gotten hot yet and Matt Dominguez has been killing the M's lately and they are just looking to stop the bleeding. Not even Felix Hernandez could quiet down the Astros and now the team is looking to complete the series sweep. The Mariners will start a series next with Texas and that will be home as well and that has Roenis Elias and Matt Harrison facing off against each other and it comes after Erasmo Ramirez got the loss on Tuesday.

The Mariners started off the season hitting well, but now they rank in the bottom of the league across the board, coming in 26th in runs, 28th in batting average, 29th in on base and 27th in slugging percentage. The pitching has been killed by injuries, but it has been solid enough and they are 11th in ERA and ninth in opponents' batting average. The Mariners have been terrible in the later innings and no one seemingly can string any hits together either.

The team is hoping that this is the year things turn around, but so far it has been a mess and now they are hoping to get their pitching back to full strength by mid-May. Houston is the worst team in the AL, but they have played the Mariners well and they come in ranked 29th in runs and 30th in batting average but that has not stopped them over these two games. The team next will play against the Oakland A's and they will start against Scott Kazmir in the first game at home on Thursday.
