New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning (10) warms up in front of backup quarterback Ryan Nassib (9) before their pre-season NFL football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania August 10, 2013. "

The New York Giants signed Josh Freeman as a free agent and that has led some to speculate that a trade with Ryan Nassib could be happening, but either way, heading into the draft the Giants have major needs and players like As Eric Ebron, Aaron Donald, Jace Amaro, Taylor Lewan and Mike Evans all could be in the mix for Jerry Reese as he tries to add offense for Eli Manning and coordinator Ben McAdoo.

The Giants struggled mightily last season on offense after starting the season 0-6 and while they finished up 7-9, the team had a number of issues that need to get worked out. The rushing game was terrible and they tried to rectify that by keeping Peyton Hillis and adding Rashad Jennings, who led the Raiders in rushing yards last season and they also are working on the offensive line. The team lost Kevin Boothe, but they added JD Walton and Geoff Schwartz with second year player Justin Pugh and there is a chance they could go after Taylor Lewan or Zack Martin in the first round.

The Giants need a tight end despite signing Kellen Davis, as Adrien Robinson doesn't appear ready to be a starter yet and that could mean Eric Ebron or Jace Amaro in the draft. The team loves Ebron and his size, but he may not last to number 12, as he fits the mold of a Gronk and Jimmy Graham TE. Amaro was amazing last season with Texas Tech and the team could look at him as an option, while Reese would love for Evans to fall. Evans could be a perfect replacement for Hakeem Nicks, who signed with the Colts in the offseason, as he averaged over 20 yards per catch last season on 69 receptions with Johnny Manziel in 2013.

Jerry Reese has afforded himself some good will over the years after hitting on a number of players like Hakeem Nicks, Linval Joseph and Victor Cruz, even though he wasn't in the draft, and he also was looked at as a genius after all seven of the Giants players drafted made the team his first season. Those players helped win a Super Bowl, but over the years, Reese's record in the draft has been spotty at best and there are some major misses that the Giants have had and they really can't afford a class like that right now.

David Wilson looked like a great pick at number 32 in the first round, but his fumbling and now his injury issues may make that pick into a completely lost one and now they have the number 12 pick in the draft and that means they can get an impact player. This is lower than the Giants have picked in a while and that is what makes this draft so important. The Giants don't have a ton of picks this season, but they have enough to make an impact, as they have one pick in each of the first four rounds, including number 43 overall and then they have two fifth round picks and one sixth round pick, with number 174 coming as a compensatory pick, meaning they can't trade that.
