The Angels are third in the American League west early on in the season and they come into the game after getting a win against the Oakland Athletics and now they start up a series with the Tigers. The game on Saturday has CJ Wilson taking on Max Scherzer and that should be a solid pitching matchup. The Tigers are 7-5 on the season and leading the AL Central and both of these teams have playoffs hopes for this year.

The Angles come into the game third in the league in runs so far, but the pitching has not been sharp and they rank fourth in slugging percentage, 18th in on base percentage and 16th in batting average with a .245 clip right now. The pitching has been up and down and the team comes in ranked 23rd in ERA and 22nd in quality starts and they are also ninth in batting average against and 14th in WHIP. The game has some major stars with Miguel Cabrera facing off against Mike Trout after beating him in the last two MVP races and the recent winner has been struggling to start the season, while Trout has been up to his old tricks.

The Tigers come into the game after getting a win from Justin Verlander and a save from Joe Nathan and the team won over the Cleveland Indians and this season the central division race should be a tight one. The team faces off against the Angles on Friday and they come into the game at 25th in runs and ninth in batting average this season and they are also ranked 16th in on base and 11th in slugging percentage. The pitching has been solid and they are 11th in ERA and 22nd in quality starts and 15th in WHIP and 14th in batting average and they are looking to get the bats heated up.

The central should be tight this season, as the Tigers and Indians made the playoffs last year, while the Royals finished with a winning record and both the twins and White Sox have been surprising to start the season. The teams are looking to get back on track with the game on Friday.
