Manchester United has long wanted to sign Tony Kroos from Bayern Munich and while some think it could happen, others have tried to temper expectations after manager Pep Guardiola made some comments, as the contract for the star lasts through 2015 and it's likely he will not leave until after that.

According to ESPN.com, Manchester United has offered Kroos a substantial increase in salary that would be four times what he makes with Bayern, but no deal has gone through. Kroos was rumored to be signing a new deal with Bayern, but that has been tabled for now and the German champions would like to keep him if they can.

David Moyes was seen at one of his matches earlier this year and that only stoked interest.

Guardiola said: "[Rummenigge and Sammer] will do everything to keep Toni here. But it is up to Toni. He is a young person, it is his decision."

According to ESPNFC.com, Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer said to reporters that the team will not entertain a sale for Kroos despite any interest from Manchester United and he also added that the team could go after Draxler, who has been getting plenty of attention. The midfielder is signed through 2015 and he is looking for a bit of a raise with the way he has played and this comes after Bayern Munich won their first match in this round against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Some reports from the Daily Mail have Moyes and United looking to get Kroos, but his club says they will not let that happen and manager Pep Guardiola said he hopes that his midfielder will stay. Bayern Munich remains in the mix for Draxler as well and this comes after Arsenal went after him last month and now the defending champions could be the ones to sign him,

"We value Toni. We have underlined that several times," Sammer said. "Toni is under contract until the summer of 2015. Until then nothing will change. And we try hard to make him stay beyond that."
