Man City has been at the top part of the table for most of the season and they have been able to overcome numerous injuries and now down the stretch they have a chance to make up some space on the table. The team is behind Chelsea and Liverpool, who are in the lead and closing on the title, but they have two matches in hand and that could be enough for the team to catch up over the final weeks, although they don't have any head to head matchups with the Reds or Blues over the last stretch of the season.
Manchester City comes into the match after a loss to Liverpool in the Premier League and before that they were dominant over Southampton and went 1-1 against Arsenal and now they have the chance to finish the season on a strong streak. The team is playing Sunderland and West Brom at home and then they will hit the road for matches with Crystal Palace and Everton and that will be an important match, as they are in the top part of the league table and are pushing towards qualification as well with the Gunners. The team then finishes the season with Aston Villa and West Ham United and both of those matches will be at the Etihad, where Man City has played very well this season.
Sunderland comes into the match after a 1-0 loss against Everton at home and that was a tough one and before that they lost to Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool and now they are looking to get back on track ahead of another match with Chelsea. The team has the chance to play spoiler, as they matchup with Man City and the Blues coming up before they host Cardiff and then the team will visit Manchester United at Old Trafford and that will be before the final two games at home at the Stadium of Light. The team finishes with West Brom and Swansea City and by then the team could pull itself out of relegation.
Sunderland is in the bottom standings of the table, while Man City is chasing Chelsea and they are ahead of Arsenal and Everton. Liverpool is nearing the league title over Chelsea and they are up over Tottenham, Manchester United and Southampton and they are all looking to finish the season strong. Liverpool has been the best team in the Premier League over the second half and they have scored more goals than anyone and now Luis Suarez has the most goals in the league and they have been very strong all year and they have more wins than anyone leading into the final weeks.
