The PGA Tour golf leaderboard at the Masters 2014 has Bill Haas leading the scores over Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson as the second round gets underway on Friday and it comes as Haas got off to a great start in the first round on Thursday and he hopes to take that into the weekend, while Scott will be looking to get his second green jacket in a row.

Haas came into the day with the lead at four under after taking it into the clubhouse on Thursday and he teed off past 1 pm ET and he has a tight group at the top, as Bubba Watson, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy and Jimmy Walker are all chasing Haas at the top. Watson had a four under at one point after starting the day under par halfway through his round and all those players are coming in while Tiger Woods is out of action with back surgery and his absence was felt by many players as things got started, but now that Augusta National is in full swing, everyone has their eyes at the top of the leaderboard to see who will end up on top.

Woods is out of the tournament for the first time in his career and that is a 20 year streak that is now over and he missed the Champions Dinner as well. Woods has to be off his feet for at least two weeks and then after that he can continue rehabbing. Woods hopes to be back for the British Open, but it's no guarantee that he will make it into that tournament and that could put a damper on the rest of the year for him. Woods has not won a major since 2008 and he is looking to snap that streak and he has not really come all that close in the past couple years, including last year when he was close for a while at the Masters, but his drop shot controversy knocked him down a bit and he couldn't make it up.

The year in 2014 and the season last year have been markedly different for Woods, as he won five times on Tour last season, including three before the Masters, but this time around he wasn't in the mix for anything. Woods struggled at a place where he normally rules, flaming out at the Farmers at Torrey Pines and then he also had to pull out of the Honda Open and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The back has been bothering him for some time and now he is hoping to return to action this year and get back on track after dealing with the surgery.

There are three players in the field who can take the number one ranking from Woods and this comes after he took that back from McIlroy last season. Scott can get it with a win and he is hoping to defend his jacket at the Masters at Augusta National.
