The Philadelphia Eagles have been a busy team this offseason and Chip Kelly has been at the center of it and while the team tried to pull off a deal with the Miami Dolphins for Dion Jordan that was denied, the team has also been connected to potential deals with Terrelle Pryor and LaMichael James with the Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers.

The trade rumors involving Jordan came up a month or two ago and at the time it was reported by Pro Football Talk that the Dolphins were not totally satisfied with his performance last season and were shopping him to teams. The Eagles came up because of the connection with Kelly and Jordon at Oregon, as the coach helped being out the best of him with the Ducks and that is one reason why he was the number three overall pick last year. According to PFT, the Eagles made an offer to the Dolphins, proposing a second round pick along with linebacker Brandon Graham for Jordan and while that is a solid package, Miami felt it wasn't good enough for a former top five overall pick.

Last year the Miami Dolphins traded up with the Oakland Raiders for the number three overall pick and they used that to take Jordan. The team traded up their first round pick and their second round pick last season to do it, which is the main reason why Miami likely did not want to give up Jordan for just a second round pick. Even if the team was not totally satisfied with his performance, they likely feel that keeping him has move value than giving him up for a second round pick. Kelly clearly has an affinity for Jordan and there is a chance that closer to the draft or the season the team could make another proposal for him.

It was General Manager Jeff Ireland who selected Jordan and not Dennis Hickey, but clearly Jordan has prime physical talent and now the Dolphins need to figure out the best way to harness it. The Eagles have been busy this offseason, as they released DeSean Jackson and traded for Darren Sproles and that is one reason why Kelly said he is excited about the upcoming season. The team brought back Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper while getting rid of Jackson and adding Sproles gives the team a new element out of the backfield that can help make up for the production lost by Jackson.

While it's very unlikely that the team will pull off more trades now, they were also linked to potential deals with Terrelle Pryor and LaMichael James. Pryor was linked before Mark Sanchez was signed so that probably isn't happening, while James was great under Kelly at Oregon, but with Sproles coming in that would be a redundant move.
