The Oakland Athletics and Minnesota Twins are playing live on the MLB schedule on Thursday and the game comes from Target Field at 1:10 pm ET and the matchup will have Dan Straily and Mike Pelfrey facing off against each other in the pitching rotation and it is the final game of the series for the two teams.

Oakland comes into the day tied for first in the AL west with the Seattle Mariners and they have leads over the LA Angels and Texas Rangers and the A's are looking to continue a hot streak with the Twins, as they are going for their 14th win in 16 games and they could win nine series in a row with a victory against the Twins. Minnesota is just 3-5 on the season and they are looking to improve after missing the playoffs last season while Oakland is looking to win the division again and the Mariners could be a thorn in their side with Robinson Cano signing as a free agent this offseason as second base.

The A's come into the game after a win against the Twins and they are facing off against the Mariners starting on Friday and that will be at Safeco Field and should be a great matchup, as Felix Hernandez will be on the mound. The King will get a grand ovation at the stadium, as he gets a Supreme Court night for his first home start of the season and he comes in after winning his first two matchups of the season and he has been very strong to start on the road, giving up just a couple home runs and now he gets his first home start.

Straily comes into the game at 0-1 this season already and pitched against Hernandez in his first start of the season and he pitched very well, but the King got the best of him and he ended up winning the game after Straily gave up a couple home runs in six innings of a 3-1 victory for the M's. Pelfrey comes into the matchup at 0-1 as well and he had a nice start against the Indians, but he ended up giving up some home runs in a tough loss and now Oakland is looking to keep things going after winning on Wednesday against the A's.

Minnesota starts a series with the Kansas City Royals on Friday and that will be at Target Field and they come in after a loss against the Athletics. The team is ranked fifth in the league in runs scored to start the season and they are second in on base percentage early on. The team is hoping for a better season after missing the playoffs again last year and they are 14th in batting average over the past week of the season.
