The Oscar Pistorius trial is back live with a court stream from ESPN and WatchESPN online, as the Olympic star will be on the stand again after taking it in his defense in South Africa regarding the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp and that came on Monday before the Tuesday coverage and he could face 25 years to life if he is convicted.

Pistorius took the stand in court after the case was delayed for a week and that was due to one of the judges helpers coming down with an illness and now things have picked back up with the defense presenting their case. According to ESPN.com, Pistorius was very uncomfortable on the stand and his voice quivered considerably when he tried to talk and while many experts feel that Pistorius taking the stand is a mistake, they also admit that it could be his only chance to get out of a life sentence after the way things have played out.

Pistorius apologized to the family of his girlfriend and he claims that he thought she was an intruder in the bathroom of his home when he shot at her four times. The prosecution claims that there were screams and arguing before the gunshots went off. The trial was into Day 17 and Pistorius had no choice but to take the stand, as part of his defense is explaining why he shot her in the first place. The law in South Africa is not as crazy as, let's say Florida in the United States, as Pistorius is being accused of premeditated murder and he claims that he felt genuinely in danger at the time of the shooting.

The prosecution has brought up a number of past incidents involving Pistorius and weapons as well as brought into question his anger issues. Pistorius said he has woken up panicked and in court he tearfully apologized for his actions and said that he now takes antidepressant medication. The Olympian competed for South Africa in the London Olympics and he was one of the most well-known athletes in his sport after being born with a condition that forced him to have his legs amputated.
