The Barclays English Premier League table is getting tight heading into the back stretch of the season and the EPL standings has Liverpool leading Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Everton  and Tottenham with the weekend schedule getting started on Saturday with Man City taking on Southampton, while the Blues play the late game and the Reds battle on Sunday.

Liverpool pulled ahead of Chelsea on the league table after the Blues lost to Crystal Palace in a tough match on the road and that was the first home win for CP against the Blues in a number of years and now with just a handful of matches left on the schedule everyone is scrambling to get to the top. Liverpool is trying to bring Steven Gerrard a title before he is done and now the team has a two point lead on the standings ahead of Chelsea and that makes things very exciting going down the back stretch.

Chelsea is in second place and they have a two point lead over Manchester City, while Arsenal is three points back of Man City coming into their weekend. Everton is four points behind the Gunners and they have a lead over Manchester United, Southampton, Newcastle and Stoke City to round out the top 10 teams in the league. The schedule this weekend has Man City playing Southampton at the Etihad, while Aston Villa and Fulham will start up the middle part of the schedule. Cardiff and Crystal Palace are playing, while Hull City matches up with Swansea City, Newcastle plays against Man United and then Norwich City plays against West Brom before Chelsea takes on Stoke City.

The Sunday matchup has Everton and Arsenal, while West Ham and Liverpool are playing in a big match as well. Liverpool has a match coming at Anfield against Manchester City and they also will play Chelsea at home and that match towards the end of the schedule could end up being for the EPL title.
