Mar 31, 2014 05:53 PM EDT

The MLB Standings for 2014 started off last week with the LA Dodgers winning two games against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Australia and that came before the opening night in the US against the San Diego Padres that saw Los Angeles lost to the Pads at Petco Park and now teams like the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, NY Mets, Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves are getting their first results and scores of the season.

The schedule on Monday for Opening Day gets started with the Chicago Cubs visiting the Pittsburgh Pirates and that game will be on ESPN and streaming from WatchESPN at 1:00 pm ET and comes after Pitt made their first playoff appearance in two decades. The Dodgers took the early lead in the National League west after winning two against the Diamondbacks and one of those was started by Clayton Kershaw, but he now is on the DL for the first time in his career and the team is hoping he will return soon after feeling some discomfort in his back.

The Kansas City Royals are coming back after a very successful season and they are hoping to start things off on a positive note when they play the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park on Monday and that game will start at 1:08 pm ET. The Tigers won the Central division last year and the next game on the schedule has the Washington Nationals playing the NY Mets at Citi Field and that will start the season in the National League East after the Braves won last year and the Nats are hoping to bounce back after missing the playoffs in 2013.

The first interleague series of the season starts on Monday with the Philadelphia Phillies visiting the Texas Rangers and that has Cliff Lee starting for the Phils and some of the other names pitching early include James Shields, Justin Verlander, Jeff Samardzija, Francisco Liriano, Stephen Strasburg and Dillon Gee. The Atlanta Braves start the season against the Milwaukee Brewers and that comes before the first game on ESPN2 with the Boston Red Sox starting their championship defense against the Baltimore Orioles at 3 pm and that has Jon Lester against Chris Tillman.

The St. Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds start off on Opening Day with the Cincy tradition at the Great American Ballpark, with Adam Wainwright and Johnny Cueto starting things off. The Twins and White Sox play in the AL Central, while the Blue Jays and Rays play in Tampa Bay and that comes before the evening games with the Colorado Rockies playing the Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants playing the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cleveland Indians taking on the Oakland Athletics along with the Seattle Mariners and LA Angels on ESPN2 with Felix Hernandez and Jered Weaver.
