UConn vs. Iowa State Live Radio Stream: Listen Online Sweet 16 Basketball Game Streaming Huskies

Mar 28, 2014 07:46 PM EDT

The UConn Huskies and the Iowa State Cyclones are playing at Madison Square Garden for the Sweet 16 in the NCAA college basketball tournament on Friday and the classic matchup at MSG has Connecticut looking to win at a place they know very well and DeAndre Kane and Shabazz Napier are the two stars and the game starts up at 7:27 pm ET on TBS and is streaming from the March Madness website.

Iowa State comes in playing some great ball on the offensive side of the floor and that means this matchup on Friday could be one of the highest scoring in the tournament and that comes after the team dropped 85 in the last round and that was against North Carolina in one of the more exciting games of the tournament so far. The team comes in after getting a close win against the Tar Heels and Kane was excellent in that game, dropping 24 points to lead the Cyclones and he was also tops in boards and assists with 10 rebounds and seven dimes and if he has another game like that against the Huskies, the team will be very hard to stop.

UConn has a solid defense and it will be interesting to see the matchup with the Cyclones, as they are averaging 82 points per game and ranked sixth in the regular season in average points per game and on top of that they are also first in assists. The team is one of the most efficient on offense and that is in large part due to Kane and Georges Niang, who is one of the most versatile players in the tournament and he could give the team matchup nightmares on Friday.

Those two players will be huge for coach Fred Hoiberg and if they play well the team will continue dancing. The Cyclones shot 47 percent from the field this season and they ranked 23rd in rebounds per game, while the defense allowed 74 points per game and was not as sharp, but they were with rebounding and ranked second in the nation in that and that should make the frontline matchup between the two teams a tough one. ISU won the Big 12 tournament title after Kansas won in the regular season and they have now won seven games in a row since losing two in a row to Baylor and Kansas State and those were the only two losses for the team past January 29 when they lost to the Jayhawks.

UConn comes into the game with a great offense as well and Napier now has even more experience than the last time the two teams faced off the Huskies have been looked at as a dark horse national title contender like when they won it all with Kemba Walker years ago. The team is allowing just 63 points per game and their defense against the Cyclones will be a great matchup, while the team is in the top 10 in blocks and they will need that size on Friday night. The Huskies are scoring over 70 points per game and if this one gets out of hand, the defense may fall by the wayside for Hoiberg and Huskies coach Kevin Ollie.
