Manchester United officially completed the signing of Robin Van Persie from Arsenal after the striker completed a medical and agreed to personal terms on a four year contract"

Robin Van Persie added another award to cap a glittering season with Arsenal after being voted the Professional Players Association Fans' player of the year for the 2011-12 season.

The Dutch master has already won the PFA players' player of the year and writers' player of the year awards, in a season which saw him score 37 goals in 48 games.

The Arsenal captain's future has been in doubt, however, with the striker refusing to commit to the long-term with just one year left on his current contract. His form and the contract situation have alerted some of the biggest clubs in the world, with Juventus thought to be favorites to sign him, if he decides to leave Arsenal.

"Robin had an exceptional season and has established himself in the mould of previous top quality Dutch strikers such as Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Marco van Basten," PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor said.

"He's very much in demand and Arsenal fans will be worrying whether Arsenal can get him to stay or whether he will move on to the likes of Manchester City.

"Many of his goals were the best of not just this season, but any season when you think of the quality of some of his volleys. He really has been a talisman for Arsenal and as captain has lifted them into qualifying for the Champions League again when all looked lost."

Youngster Jay Rodriguez, who signed for Southampton from Burnley last week, won the Championship player of the year award after scoring 21 goals last season. "Burnley-born, Jay had some limited experience in their time in the Premier League but has really come good for the club," Taylor said.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo won the League One award and forward Lewis Grabban of Rotherham United was honored in League Two.
