Champions League Results and Scores: Manchester United Advances To Quarters Against Olympiakos After Robin Van Persie Hat Trick

Mar 19, 2014 04:56 PM EDT

The Champions League was live again on Wednesday for the second leg matches in the round of 16 and Manchester United advanced to the quarters past Olympiakos with a 3-0 win after a hat trick from Robin Van Persie  and now they are into the quarterfinals.

Borussia Dortmund and Zenit St. Petersburg are 1-1 at half and Dortmund is likely to move on after coming in at 4-2 after the first match and the real drama is at Old Trafford, where Manchester United has struggled all season. David Moyes has been under the gun and now he has the chance to get things right at least in the UCL and the team may miss qualifying from the Premier League, so this could be their last shot to make a move here.

Robin Van Persie started things off with a penalty at the 25th minute and he added a goal in the first half extra time to continue things and now the club must hold on for a victory and they need to score as well. The first match was 2-0 Olympiakos on the road and Manchester United comes into the match on Wednesday after a loss over the weekend against Liverpool and that was at Old Trafford as well.

The club is far down back from Chelsea on the Premier League table and they have a tough schedule to finish things up, as they have matchups with Sunderland as well as Manchester City and Everton. The club comes into the weekend at seventh on the English Premier League table and Chelsea right now is in first and they will be no matter what happens, as they are up four on Liverpool and Arsenal. The Gunners are up over Manchester City, while Tottenham and Everton are next over Man U in the standings.
