ESPN journalist Nate Silver has his FiveThirtyEight website starting on Monday, March 17 on ESPN.com and the FiveThirtyEight.com website launches today and will feature Final Four picks for the NCAA Tournament and March Madness. "

The FiveThirtyEight website from Nate Silver will get its much-anticipated launch at FiveThirtyEight.com on Monday, March 17 and the new 538 will be on ESPN and ESPN.com after being with the New York Times and this was a highly publicized move and it mirrors what the company has done with Bill Simmons and Grantland and for what SI.com did with Peter King and his MMQB.com site.

Silver made the announcement last week and wrote on the old FiveThirtyEight website in a post that the new site under the ESPN company banner will launch on St. Patrick's Day and it will be paired with Grantland on the front of the ESPN.com homepage as part of a design shift. Silver spoke to New York Magazine about the new website and described the new fox logo for the relaunch and called it "scrappy" and while he knows it will have a numbers, analytical and "data driven" approach, it will also be relatable for sports fans of all types of sports.

The news about Silver's move to ESPN came last summer and he previously was at the New York Times, where his blog, FiveThirtyEight, blew up big from the 2012 Presidential election and Silver rose in popularity with his numbers-based approach to writing on various topics. At the time of the move, the company announced that the new FiveThirtyEight would cover a wide range of topics, including sports (obviously), pop culture, politics, technological innovations and the media among other subjects and Silver is the editor-in-chief of the website and spent the time since the announcement hiring a staff of writers from various backgrounds.

Silver and his blog with the Times got big after predicting the electoral vote counts in the 2012 election and that sparked interest in the site and raised its popularity. The new site will cover the elections in 2014 and 2016, which will be the next presidential election and Silver will also continue to write pieces on the site while serving as the main editor.
