This is purely an opinion, but Johnny Manziel should be the number one pick in the NFL draft this year and the Houston Texans would be crazy to pass on him, even for freak defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and the main reason is because college football and the league have never seen a player quite like Manziel.

Clowney is a physical freak and is as gifted as anyone in the draft, but Manziel is something that the Texans simply cannot pass up at this moment based on where their franchise is and the needs of the team. Getting the first overall pick doesn't happen too often and after going 2-14 during a season that included 14 straight losses, change is inevitable and at the most important position. Manziel is staring the Texans right in the face and drafting him immediately would get the fan base excited, get the team on a new track and would give Houston one of the most marketable players to come into the NFL in years.

Oh, and the dude is a pretty amazing football player.

Manziel put up numbers in the SEC like no one has ever seen and while he is fantastic at running the ball, he has an arm to go with it and he set numerous school and conference records in just two seasons with the Aggies. Sure, he's short and not that big compared to players like Cam Newton or Colin Kaepernick, but Manziel just has "IT". He improvises, he can pull his team out from big deficits and the moment is never too big for him.

Yes, the haters are going to hate, but Manziel is something special. Sure, he has some Brett Favre, Russell Wilson, Fran Tarkenton comparisons coming his way as he heads towards the NFL, but in reality, the league has not seen a player quite like Manziel.

The Texans would be crazy to pass him up.
