WWE Championship Match Will Likely Go to Bryan

It may be time for WWE to take the title off of CM Punk when he faces Kane and Daniel Bryan this Sunday at No Way Out.

Punk has held the title since beating Alberto Del Rio in November. This current run, however, will likely be remembered as an extension of his first which began last summer. Punk is WWE's answer to a fan base that was growing restless with the more mainstream, entertainment based product that the company has been providing.

Punk's title reign has been long enough to be convincing and was reportedly close to being ended several times; including at last month's Over the Limit.  WWE officials were contemplating putting the title on Bryan in order to intensify the rivalry.  Instead, they opted for a controversial finish and a glorified rematch that involves Kane for spice.

With a face World Heavyweight Champion in Sheamus, it would make sense for Bryan to earn the WWE Title and officially take his spot as the company's top active heel.

Keeping the championship with Punk would stalemate a feud which could very well be used to carry WWE through the summer.  AJ will of course be involved and she will likely assist Bryan "inadvertently. "

Tabbing Bryan as the WWE Champion would further the company's commitment to placing more of an emphasis on actual in-ring ability and "competition."  Since ending his last title feud with CM Punk, former perennial champion John Cena has remained far from the title picture.  Cena's affiliation with the new direction of WWE had begun to hurt his popularity, but he has experienced an increase in live audience support now that his matches are purely storyline driven and do not involve a coveted, wrestling honor.
