The Cleveland Browns continue to make headlines for odd reasons this offseason and the Jim Harbaugh story is only the latest and as that goes on, the team is returning from the combine with tons of research and many think that if Johnny Manziel or Teddy Bridgewater are off the board by the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars, Bortles will be the pick for the Browns.

According to ESPN.com, the Browns met with Bortles and scouted him hard at the combine, as he was one of the only top players to actually throw in Indianapolis this year. Bortles said he was not worried about throwing at the combine and with the Browns looking at quarterbacks, he is one player that could be in the mix. Bortles has the size to be an NFL quarterback and many have compared him to Ben Roethlisberger and he could be the pick for the Browns if the top two names are taken in the first three picks.

ESPN.com writes that the team has a 50 percent chance that he will be left at number four and while the Browns have needs in tons of areas, quarterback is one of the most glaring and Bortles could fill that hole. Bortles was the one main player to throw at the combine and that could have him ahead of Manziel, Derek Carr and others for now and he was very solid while throwing at the combine and this came after he passed for 3,581 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions this season with UCF.

Central Florida won the Fiesta Bowl and that put him on the map and he is the name everyone has been talking about when it comes to size at quarterback, as he is 6-5 and has 232 pounds on him. Bortles is considered less pro ready that Bridgewater, but he has the size to make up for that and putting him in an offense with Josh Gordon could really open things up with the Browns after they went 4-12 last season.
