The San Antonio Spurs are not usually active at the trade deadline, but with Tony Parker out for an extended period of time, the team could look for deals and names like Evan Turner, Thaddeus Young and Spencer Hawes could be options with the Sixers to gear up for another Tim Duncan title run.

The Spurs made it to the finals last season and lost to the Miami Heat and now they are once again one of the top teams in the west, but with Parker out "for the foreseeable future" as Gregg Popovich describes it, the team could make a move. According to ESPN.com, Parker will be out with a variety of ailments and this comes after a long stretch of playing in the playoffs and for the French national team last offseason, he needs a break. Pop didn't put it clearly about what is bothering Parker, but Manu Ginobili said that he looked tired and that Parker could benefit from some rest.

The Spurs have been dealing with a high number of injuries and this is now the latest one and all those injuries have started to add up and that puts players like Turner or Young in the mix. The Spurs have dealt with losing Danny Green, Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tiago Splitter and Kawhi Leonard for various periods of time and CBS Sports reports that the team could be interested in trading for Turner.

The Sixers have long been considered a team that will be active at the trading deadline and the top issue on both sides will be compensation. The Sixers are rebuilding and want draft picks, but teams may not be willing to give up too high of a pick for Turner, as he is set to hit the free agent market and the 76ers have said they are not planning on re-signing him. Turner is averaging close to 20 points this season and adding a player like him would help make up for the loss of Parker and his production and earlier this season he was averaging 18.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists and shooting over 40 percent from the floor.

Young and Hawes could also be options, but the Spurs are more likely looking into Turner more than the other players, as he fits what they need more. The Spurs are once again one of the top teams out west, but they have a losing record against the other teams in that position and heading into the second half of the season that is a primary concern.

Parker is a leader and he will be out for a while now heading into the spring, but if he returns healthy for the playoffs and the team trades for Turner, they could be very strong come April. The team is averaging over 100 points per game and they are ranked sixth in scoring defense and eighth in points per game and one area they could get hit with Parker is at assists, as the team is second in the league and now they will possibly look to make a move for depth by the Thursday deadline.
