The former NFL tight end is charged in the fatal shooting of his friend, Odin Lloyd, in June 2013."

Aaron Hernandez is back in court and girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins is expected to be in attendance in the courtroom in Fall River on Friday, as the Patriots tight end is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing that will go over a number of issues, including whether the prosecution will be granted the right to Hernandez's jailhouse phone calls and visitors list.

According to My Fox Boston, Hernandez, who still faces first degree murder charges for the death of Odin Lloyd, will be in court as the judge decides whether or not to turn over the phone and visitor records to lawyers for the state. The prosecution alleges that Hernandez has spoken about the murder and his involvement on the phone and that he has also put out code messages to visitors to take care of things on the outside. The lawyers say that the information should be allowed to be entered into the case and that he has spoken about his "criminal liability" and that could be a major get for the prosecutors.

Hernandez has steadfastly denied that he murdered Lloyd, a 27 year old former semi-pro football player and associate of Hernandez's. The two were connected through Jenkins, as Lloyd was dating Shayanna's sister and now the pre-trial hearing will be another step in determining an actual trial date for the former NFL player.

Hernandez is not the only one charted in the case, as two other accomplices have been held in relation to the murder, while his girlfriend has been charged with perjury and his cousin Tanya Singleton has been accused of helping one of the accomplices try to escape and she also refused to testify to a grand jury.
