The new Man of Steel sequel that is being called Batman vs. Superman just got some major casting news, as Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred and this news somehow is more shocking than Ben Affleck being cast as Batman and should make for an amazing film, as those actors are Academy Award nominated and bring some interesting ideas for the characters.

Eisenberg is cast as the villain in the film and comes after he was nominated two years ago for "The Social Network" and was fantastic in that film and now he will be cast in one of the biggest films ever. Affleck comes in as Batman and Henry Cavill is set to return as Clark Kent and Superman and now this is huge news, as the storyline is rumored to have Luthor and another character as main villains and the rebuilding of Metropolis is part of the story according to those rumors.

Affleck will play and older and wiser Batman to Superman's character and now Eisenberg is in as Luthor after tons of speculation had names like Joaquin Phoenix and Bryan Cranston as possible options for the role. No details were released but the story was broken by Variety and now the film should get kicked into high gear as production will start with all the stars and this comes as the release date was moved back, but this is great news for hero fans and Batman fans, as the film now is setting itself up to be a film with a fantastic cast. The film does not have an official title yet, but the release is coming in 2016.
