NY Giants Free Agent Rumors: Darren McFadden, Knowshon Moreno, Ben Tate, Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings Options For 2014?

The New York Giants are coming into the 2014 season with big questions and one of the biggest is at the running back position, as Andre Brown is a free agent and with David Wilson's neck injury, the team may have to hit free agency for a legitimate running game and names like Darren McFadden, Knowshon Moreno, Ben Tate, Maurice Jones-Drew, Rashad Jennings and Donald Brown could fit Ben McAdoo's new offense.

Moreno had an option for 2014, but that got voided and now the back in the Super Bowl is looking to cash in after having a very productive season for Peyton Manning and the Broncos. Moreno was integral to the Super Bowl run and he had over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and a year after being in the dog house he finished with double digit touchdowns and now he could be a top back on the market and the Giants sure need that.

Eli Manning had a terrible season, but part of that was the offensive line and the lack of a consistent running game and now the team needs to boost that area to get the offense back on track. Ben Tate could be a very interesting option, as he is young without a lot of wear and tear and he showed this season that he can step in for Arian Foster and be effective. This year he had over 700 yards for the Texans and at 25, he showed toughness by playing with a rib injury for most of the second half of the season.

Jennings is another player that could come cheap, as he has averaged over four yards per carry and put up the most rushing yards for the Raiders this season. Speaking of the Raiders, the Giants could take a chance on Darren McFadden, but his injuries may keep the team away. Same goes for Jones-Drew, while names like Brown and Rashard Mendenhall could be options as well.
