The MLB season feels like it just ended and it already is getting close to starting up and with Masahiro Tanaka on the verge of signing, the trade market could be next to get going, with names like Homer Bailey, David Price, Shelby Miller and Lance Lynn names that could be on the market.

Price is a name that has been mentioned since the end of the season since the Rays rarely break the bank for anyone and while some news came up about the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers, no deal got serious. Price has already won a Cy Young and has another year on his deal and would be the number one pitcher by far if he was on the market and the later it gets into the offseason the less likely it will be that the Rays deal him.

Homer Bailey is another player that got some heat in trade rumors due to his contract status, as he is due an extension soon and the Reds have to decide whether he is worth paying a long-term contract. Bailey and Brandon Phillips have been mentioned at various times and the Reds look like they will hang onto both players as well. The Cardinals were rumored to be willing to trade young pitching for offense this offseason, but after signing Jhonny Peralta the team held back and both Shelby Miller and Lance Lynn were mentioned as potential options.

Miller's rumors came mostly from the fact that the Cardinals barely used him at all in the playoffs after a very good season, as he pitched just one inning for the Cards and didn't factor into the World Series. Miller spoke with reporters this week and said he wasn't sure why it happened that was in the playoffs and that he is ready to work hard this year. Miller went 15-9 last season and was 10th in the league in ERA and the one inning he pitched was in the National League division series against the Pirates. Michael Wacha was the main rookie down the stretch in the playoffs over Miller and he delivered, going 4-1 with a 2.64 ERA in the postseason and it came after Miller made over 30 starts during the season
